The Dublin Well Woman Centre has taken at least 60,000 smear tests since the CervicalCheck programme started. We have not been notified by the CervicalCheck Programme/ HSE of any irregularities in the testing of any of our patients.
Having regular smear tests is vital, and the best way to ensure that any changes are detected and treated before they become cancer. Women who have had several smear tests over the years that have all been clear should feel reassured that they are at very low risk for future not normal tests.
The Dublin Well Woman Centre has seen a significant increase in the number of women emailing and telephoning regarding smear testing. We will respond to your queries as soon as possible, and ask you to please bear with us at this busy time.
