We learned today of the death of our dear colleague, Anne Crawford (Clinic Nurse, Pembroke Road).
Anne worked with the Dublin Well Woman Centre from 1983, and will have been known to many of our long-standing Pembroke Road patients. She was a consummately professional nurse and an effective anchor for our clinical services. Anne calmly discharged the many administrative tasks that attend our service, including processing tests for patients, arranging follow-up visits for them, and liaising with laboratories and those other healthcare professionals to whom we refer our patients.
Much more than that, Anne was a warmly humorous and reassuring presence for nervous patients, and if she was the backbone of the clinic in terms of smooth administration and nurse-delivered services, she was also very much at the heart of our team in Pembroke Road.
We will miss her greatly.
